Este hecho dificulta la interpretaci\u00f3n de la distribuci\u00f3n de estas variables en el medio natural.     para comprobar la fiabilidad de las estimaciones de producci\u00f3n primaria derivadas de la frrf se compararon \u00e9stas con las de la t\u00e9cnica basada en la incorporaci\u00f3n del 14c. La t\u00e9cnica frrf result\u00f3 v\u00e1lida para estimar tasas de incorporaci\u00f3n de carbono del fitoplancton bajo condicones ambientales que favorecieran la existencia de un acoplamiento estrecho entre los procesos anteriores y posteriores a la cadena de transporte de electrones del psii, como ocurre en situaciones de afloramiento en las r\u00edas baixas o durante el principio de la premiare en la zona de transici\u00f3n costera nor-noroeste de la pen\u00ednsula ib\u00e9rica. Bajo condicones de acoplamiento entre la absorci\u00f3n de fotones y la fijaci\u00f3n de carbono, las tasas de producci\u00f3n primaria derivadas de la frrf se relacionan de forma lineal y estad\u00edsticamente significativa con las derivadas de la incorporaci\u00f3n de 14c.
