En el cap\u00edtulo l de resultados se analiza el patr\u00f3n de expresi\u00f3n del gen de la pc durante la ortogenia del rat\u00f3n que resulta consistente con un papel de esta prote\u00edna durante el desarrollo del sn. Los resultados obtenidos en este cap\u00edtulo son la primera descripci\u00f3n de la distribuci\u00f3n del arnm de pc en las diferentes estructuras laminadas del sn y en c\u00e9lulas neuronales.  los resultados del cap\u00edtulo 2 son aquellos que se acercan al papel funcional que cumple la pc en diferentes etapas del desarrollo del sn. Los animales podx+ representan una herramienta esencial en este estudio permitiendo analizar el efecto que causa la ausencia de esta prote\u00edna en la migraci\u00f3n celular, crecimiento neur\u00edtico y en la sinaptog\u00e9nesis tanto in vivo como in vitro; procesos donde las mol\u00e9culas de adhesi\u00f3n celular cumplen un papel fundamental. Adem\u00e1s, la generaci\u00f3n del ectodominio soluble de la pc permiti\u00f3 ampliar los estudios in vitro. Mediante la utilizaci\u00f3n de estas herramientas se describe que la pc participa en la migraci\u00f3n de precursores de oligodendrocitos, en el crecimiento neur\u00edtico de neuronas hipocampales y en la formaci\u00f3n de contactos sin\u00e1pticos tanto en el snc como en el snp.  en el cap\u00edtulo 3 de resultados se analiza la posible relaci\u00f3n existente entre la pc y la supervivencia celular. As\u00ed, se muestra que en animales podx+ existe un aumento de la muerte celular programa en diferentes zonas de la corteza cerebral e hipocampo y una importante reducci\u00f3n de la m\u00e9dula espinal y de los ganglios de la ra\u00edz dorsal, consistente con una menor supervivencia celular.  en conjunto los resultados presentados en esta tesis doctoral muestran por primera vez la
