En respuesta al descenso de la pesca y al ritmo de capturas, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os han surgido diversas iniciativas dirigidas a la  acuicultura de estas especies. Este proyecto de tesis doctoral se ha centrado en el lenguado del senegal (s. Senegalensis), una especie de alto valor a\u00f1adido y un candidato con mucho potencial para la acuicultura. Quedan a\u00fan muchas inc\u00f3gnitas acerca de su reproducci\u00f3n, que deber\u00e1n ser respondidas para optimizar su cultivo uno de los problemas detectados en el cultivo de s. Senegalensis es la poca efectividad para inducir la reproducci\u00f3n de los machos, y en especial para conseguir un esperma de buena calidad. este proyecto de tesis se propone investigar los mecanismos fisiol\u00f3gicos implicados en la espermatog\u00e9nesis y la producci\u00f3n de esperma de s. Senegalensis mediante el an\u00e1lisis del proteoma del test\u00edculo de individuos salvajes y en cultivo bajo diferentes condiciones y la caracterizaci\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas potenciales implicadas en este proceso. inicialmente se han estudiado el proteoma de s. Senegalensis mediante secuenciaci\u00f3n pept\u00eddico por espectrometr\u00eda de masas. Posteriormente se ha analizado el proteoma de test\u00edculos de individuos salvajes en diferentes estadios de espermatog\u00e9nesis mediante electroforesis bidimensional y espectrometr\u00eda de masas. Resuelto este apartado, se abordaron los estudios comparativos del proteoma de individuos criados en cautividad con y sin tratamientos hormonales. Los estudios prote\u00f3micos se complementaron con an\u00e1lisis de nivel de expresi\u00f3n mrna con microarrays.  finalmente, la informaci\u00f3n obtenida a durante el proyecto referente a la expresi\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas, la expresi\u00f3n de mrna y la histolog\u00eda se ha integrado en una plataforma inform\u00e1tica visual dise\u00f1ada especialmente para s.
