El principal enfoque en la literatura para estudiar el problema de la elecci\u00f3n emplea modelos de elecci\u00f3n discreta de utilidad aleatoria, en los que se determina cuales son las variables que influyen en las decisiones del consumidor.  dentro de los modelos de elecci\u00f3n discreta se realiza una investigaci\u00f3n basada en modelos aleatorios semiparam\u00e9tricos o de mezcla finita, en los que se emplea como modelo de regresi\u00f3n el logit condicional de mcfadden.  las variables que se estudian como determinantes de la elecci\u00f3n son las preferencias intr\u00ednsecas por las marcas, el precio y la dependencia del estado inicial, expresada mediante un indicador que indica la \u00faltima marca comprada por el individuo.
