Se ha descrito la expresi\u00f3n y la funci\u00f3n de la caveolina, prote\u00edna mayoritaria de las caveolas, en el h\u00edgado y en diferentes l\u00edneas celulares hep\u00e1ticas, en h\u00edgado cirr\u00f3tico humano y en carcinoma hepatocelular. en este trabajo de tesis doctoral hemos investigado el papel de la caveolina-1 en la regeneraci\u00f3n hep\u00e1tica despu\u00e9s de hepatectom\u00eda parcial, como un modelo de proliferaci\u00f3n in vivo. Nuestros resultados muestran que caveolina-1 incrementa en el h\u00edgado despu\u00e9s de hepatectom\u00eda parcial con una redistribuci\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna desde los dominios enriquecidos en caveolas a la fracci\u00f3n no caveolar. Adem\u00e1s, la caveolina-1 localizada en la fracci\u00f3n no caveolar se encuentra fosforilada en la tirosina 14, sin embargo el gen de caveolina-1 no es indispensable para la regeneraci\u00f3n hep\u00e1tica despu\u00e9s de hepatectom\u00eda parcial, como se deduce de los datos obtenidos con los animales deficientes en este gen. Asimismo, la estimulaci\u00f3n de los hepatocitos con citoquinas pro-inflamatorias induce la translocaci\u00f3n de la caveolina-1 a la fracci\u00f3n no caveolar y la fosforilaci\u00f3n de la tirosina 14 a trav\u00e9s de la familia de tirosinas quinasas src. conclusi\u00f3n: todos estos datos apoyan el papel din\u00e1mico de la caveolina-1 en la proliferaci\u00f3n hep\u00e1tica que se produce in vivo despu\u00e9s de hepatectom\u00eda parcial e in vitro en l\u00edneas celulares hep\u00e1ticas, pero con m\u00ednimas implicaciones en el proceso de la regeneraci\u00f3n
