Sin embargo,  lo que la biolog\u00eda interpreta es resultado de la actuaci\u00f3n simult\u00e1nea de diferentes procesos qu\u00edmicos, lo que hace poco riguroso cualquier argumento que trate de explicar la secuencia temporal del fen\u00f3meno solo en base al conocimiento estructural y, menos a\u00fan,  utilizar la qu\u00edmica para ello. As\u00ed, se asume que el agua es causa del plegamiento y asociaci\u00f3n de macromol\u00e9culas; sin embargo, son los efectos de esta actividad los que se observan y definen como cat\u00e1lisis, plegamiento, agregaci\u00f3n, reconocimiento, etc. Para comprender con rigor las relaciones causa\/efecto es necesario hacer coincidir el proceso biol\u00f3gico y el qu\u00edmico. Solo as\u00ed se puede crear modelos con los que experimentar las condiciones de reversibilidad de esta relaci\u00f3n, paso ineludible para comprender, en rigor, y desde las causas que los producen, cualquier fen\u00f3meno a nivel molecular. Se ha aislado, estudiado estructuralmente e interpretado el funcionamiento de un n\u00famero importante de canales naturales que transportan iones y agua a trav\u00e9s de membranas biol\u00f3gicas. El agua y los iones resultan aqu\u00ed ser efecto y su difusi\u00f3n  susceptible de ser evaluada experimentalmente. Se observa que los iones y el agua se transportan a velocidades muy altas, que las paredes internas de los canales son esencialmente no polares y que, en ciertas zonas, el di\u00e1metro de los poros s\u00f3lo permite el paso del i\u00f3n deshidratado o de una mol\u00e9cula de agua.  Pero, \u00c2\u00bfcu\u00e1l es la causa de que esto sea as\u00ed? Nuestro  proyecto tiene el objetivo de mostrar, por primera vez, a trav\u00e9s de la experimentaci\u00f3n en modelos sencillos, que el agua es capaz de exhibir simult\u00e1neamente din\u00e1micas
