A pesar de ser unelemento muy abundante en la corteza terrestre no suele encontrarse de forma asimilable por los microorganismos. Su bajasolubilidad a ph fisiol\u00f3gico hace que sea limitante para el crecimiento de muchos seres vivos. Asimismo, el hierro puede catalizar laformaci\u00f3n de radicales libres de ox\u00edgeno a trav\u00e9s de la reacci\u00f3n de fenton. Por lo tanto, su incorporaci\u00f3n en la c\u00e9lula debe estarestrictamente regulada. En muchos microorganismos, el principal regulador transcripcional que modula la respuesta concertada a ladeficiencia de hierro es la prote\u00edna fur (ferric uptake regulator).Objetivos:- estudio de la regulaci\u00f3n de los genes fur de anabaena sp. Pcc 7120- caracterizaci\u00f3n de la interacci\u00f3n fura-dna- identificaci\u00f3n del conjunto de genes regulados por fura- an\u00e1lisis funcional de furb y furc mediante el estudio de su interacci\u00f3n con el dna y la caracterizaci\u00f3n bioqu\u00edmica de estasprote\u00ednasconclusiones:- la cianobacteria fijadora de nitr\u00f3geno anabaena (nostoc) sp. Pcc 7120 expresa tres prote\u00ednas tipo fur que presentan diferenciassignificativas en sus funciones y en los factores que determinan su regulaci\u00f3n.- Ensayos in vitro indican que podr\u00eda existir una interregulaci\u00f3n entre los tres genes fur de anabaena sp. Las prote\u00ednas fura y furbinteraccionan con los promotores de los tres genes mientras que furc, que no interacciona con el dna por s\u00ed misma, modifica laafinidad de la uni\u00f3n de fura y furb.- La transcripci\u00f3n de fura (ali1691) est\u00e1 modulada por fura y por ntca. Ambos reguladores interaccionan espec\u00edficamente con lasecuencia promotora de fura as\u00ed como con el promotor del dicistron que contiene el rna antisentido-alfa-fura. Esta regulaci\u00f3nhace que la transcripci\u00f3n de fura se incremente en deficiencia de hierro y de nitr\u00f3geno, en este \u00faltimo caso observ\u00e1ndose una fuerteinducci\u00f3n localizada en
