Para que la manipulaci\u00f3n tenga un prop\u00f3sito ha de haber una fase previa de an\u00e1lisis y planificaci\u00f3n que defina la estrategia a adoptar para obtener mejoras en un contexto biotecnol\u00f3gico. El m\u00e9todo indirecto de optimizaci\u00f3n se basa en la elaboraci\u00f3n de modelos matem\u00e1ticos del sistema  de acuerdo con el llamado formalismo en ley de potencias. El modelo obtenido puede ser analizado utilizando t\u00e9cnicas basadas en la teor\u00eda de sistemas bioqu\u00edmicos y optimizado mediante programaci\u00f3n lineal. El objetivo de esta tesis es poner a prueba el m\u00e9todo indirecto de optimizaci\u00f3n en sistemas no est\u00e1ndar y desarrollar algoritmos que mejoren el m\u00e9todo original. Las conclusiones obtenidas han sido las siguientes:el m\u00e9todo indirecto de optimizaci\u00f3n puede aplicarse con resultados satisfactorios a sistemas diversos, no estando limitados al caso cl\u00e1sico del sistema bioqu\u00edmico con relaci\u00f3n lineal entre enzimas y velocidades de reacci\u00f3n. Substituir la programaci\u00f3n lineal por programaci\u00f3n geom\u00e9trica supone una generalizaci\u00f3n natural del iom mediante la posibilidad de incluir relaciones de conservaci\u00f3n y acotaci\u00f3n de errores. El m\u00e9todo de penalizaciones desarrollado en esta tesis resulta un candidato prometedor para la optimizaci\u00f3n global de sistemas gma sin aproximaciones restrictivas. La generalidad del m\u00e9todo se ve significativamente ampliada por la posibilidad de utilizar recasting.La optimizaci\u00f3n basada en formalismos can\u00f3nicos no lineales es una herramienta
