En schizosaccharomyces pombe, cdc42p es activado por scd1p y gef1p, dos factores de intercambio de nucle\u00f3tidos de guanina. Detecci\u00f3n de dos h\u00edbridos identificados hob3p como socio gef1p vinculante. Hob3p es una prote\u00edna bar dominio-que contiene ort\u00f3logo de bin3 humanos. Hob3p tambi\u00e9n interact\u00faa directamente con cdc42p independientemente de gef1p. Hob3p, cdc42p gef1p y formar un complejo, y facilita la interacci\u00f3n hob3p gef1p-cdc42p y la activaci\u00f3n. Hob3p forma un anillo de divisi\u00f3n de la zona, similar a la de gef1p. Esta localizaci\u00f3n requiere de polimerizaci\u00f3n de la actina y cdc15p pero es independiente de la red de iniciaci\u00f3n tabicaci\u00f3n.
