Para poder mitigar los efectos perjudiciales de los estreses abi\u00f3ticos resulta necesario conocer las bases moleculares de los fen\u00f3menos investigados, ya que sol\u00f3 entonces podr\u00e1n ser manipulados de la manera m\u00e1s conveniente. En el caso de la tolerancia a la salinidad se conocen una serie de aspectos claves que han contribuido a mejorar las plantas cultivadas, pero es necesaria mucha m\u00e1s investigaci\u00f3n para poder obtener resultados adecuados para la practica agr\u00edcola.   en este trabajo se ha planteado un nuevo abordaje consistente en el uso de norespermidina, una poliamina no metabolizable, como agente de selecci\u00f3n para encontrar individuos resistentes a cationes t\u00f3xicos. Para ello se ha utilizado una colecci\u00f3n de semillas de arabidopsis mutadas por inserci\u00f3n de un activador transcripcional. Con este abordaje se aisl\u00f3 el mutante par1-1d (polyamine resistant) que presenta un fenotipo pleiotr\u00f3pico de resistencia a cationes t\u00f3xicos como na+, li+, norespermidina y espermidina. Par1-1d es un mutante dominante que presenta un aumento en la expresi\u00f3n del locus at1g15020. Este locus codifica una prote\u00edna perteneciente a la familia de las quiescina sulfidril oxidasas (existen 2 prote\u00ednas hom\u00f3logas de esta familia en arabidopsis) por lo que se propuso el nombre de qso2 (quiescina sulfidril oxidasa) para denominar al locus at1g15020. Mediante un an\u00e1lisis de rt-pcr en diferentes partes de la planta se encontr\u00f3 que qso2 se expresa principalmente en la ra\u00edz y el polen, adem\u00e1s al expresar de forma transitoria la construcci\u00f3n qso2::gfp en la epidermis de hojas de n. Benthamiana, la expresi\u00f3n de qso2 se localiz\u00f3 en la pared celular. Por otro lado, se expres\u00f3 y purific\u00f3 en s.
