En c\u00e9lulas quiescentes e2f2 se encuentra reprimido por la prote\u00edna del retinoblastoma (prb). Cuando la c\u00e9lula recibe est\u00edmulos que la inducen a dividirse prb es fosforilada por complejos c\u00edclina\/cdk, de manera que e2f2 se disocia para actuar sobre sus genes diana, permitiendo la entrada de la c\u00e9lula en la fase s. El objetivo principal del presente proyecto es el de identificar genes regulados por e2f2 implicados en la homeostasis hep\u00e1tica, para lo cual se ha optado por el modelo de regeneraci\u00f3n hep\u00e1tica. Este modelo se basa en la capacidad del h\u00edgado de regenerarse tras una resecci\u00f3n  parcial, aumentando la masa remanente de manera proporcional hasta alcanzar el tama\u00f1o inicial. La regeneraci\u00f3n hep\u00e1tica se considera ideal para estudiar factores relacionados con el ciclo celular debido a que, tras la hepatectom\u00eda, aproximadamente el 95% de las c\u00e9lulas hep\u00e1ticas que permanec\u00edan en estado quiescente entran, de manera sincronizada, en el ciclo celular. Los resultados obtenidos indican la importancia de e2f2 en la regeneraci\u00f3n hep\u00e1tica, ya que juega un importante papel como regulador positivo de la proliferaci\u00f3n. A pesar de pertenecer al grupo de factores e2f activadores, e2f2 puede tambi\u00e9n actuar como regulador negativo de la transcripci\u00f3n en el proceso regenerativo. La inactivaci\u00f3n de e2f2 conlleva cambios en la expresi\u00f3n de numerosos genes implicados en la regeneraci\u00f3n hep\u00e1tica, entre los que la mayor\u00eda pertenecen a genes metab\u00f3licos. La ausencia de e2f2 provoca tambi\u00e9n  la modificaci\u00f3n de numerosos genes no implicado sen la regeneraci\u00f3n cuyos cambios de expresi\u00f3n podr\u00edan ser fruto de mecanismos
