Para el estudio se seleccionaron diversos materiales que abarcan una amplia variedad de \u00e9pocas y de t\u00e9cnicas pict\u00f3ricas: prote\u00ednas, ceras, aceites secantes, resinas terp\u00e9nicas y pol\u00edmeros sint\u00e9ticos. Los m\u00e9todos anal\u00edticos propuestos est\u00e1n basados en cromatograf\u00eda y espectrometr\u00eda de masas. Para cada caso se aplica la t\u00e9cnica anal\u00edtica m\u00e1s adecuada, optimizando las condiciones experimentales de extracci\u00f3n de los analitos, derivatizaci\u00f3n off-line y de la instrumentaci\u00f3n  para incrementar los par\u00e1metros anal\u00edticos. Posteriormente, los datos obtenidos se tratan estad\u00edsticamente utilizando herramientas quimiom\u00e9tricas. Las metodolog\u00edas optimizadas y propuestas son las siguientes:  &#8211; identificaci\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas a partir de su proporci\u00f3n relativa en amino\u00e1cidos, analizados por hplc-fluorescencia. &#8211; caracterizaci\u00f3n de cera mediante gc\/fid a partir de la cantidad relativa de alcanos lineales y \u00e1cidos grasos.  &#8211; identificaci\u00f3n de aceites secantes a partir de su proporci\u00f3n relativa de \u00e1cidos grasos, analizados por hplc-uv-visible y hplc-fluorescencia.  &#8211; caracterizaci\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas y aceites secantes mediante su proporci\u00f3n relativa de amino\u00e1cidos y aceites secantes, respectivamente, mediante espectrometr\u00eda de masas por infusi\u00f3n directa, sin separaci\u00f3n cromatogr\u00e1fica ni derivatizaci\u00f3n previa.  &#8211; identificaci\u00f3n de materiales presentes en barnices de violines y la\u00fades italianos del renacimiento, incluyendo un ejemplar de stradivarious, mediante gc\/ms. &#8211; caracterizaci\u00f3n de pol\u00edmeros sint\u00e9ticos y aditivos en obras pict\u00f3ricas modernas mediante pir\u00f3lisis-gc-ms.      la capacidad de predicci\u00f3n de las
