Nuestro grupo ha estudiado la estructura de la cromatina de n\u00facleos de eritrocitos de pollo y de cromosomas metaf\u00e1sicos de c\u00e9lulas hela. A partir de los estudios con fragmentos de cromatina de eritrocitos de pollo se elabor\u00f3 un modelo para el plegamiento de la fibra de cromatina con una elevada concentraci\u00f3n local del dna.  A partir del estudio de cromosomas metaf\u00e1sicos de c\u00e9lulas hela  se propusieron diferentes elementos estructurales en el interior de los cromosomas metaf\u00e1sicos.  en esta tesis se ha realizado un estudio muy extenso y detallado sobre la estructura y propiedades asociativas de fragmentos de cromatina de eritrocitos de pollo que han sido tratados con una gran variedad de condiciones i\u00f3nicas e incubados en las diversas concentraciones de cationes encontradas en el n\u00facleo durante el ciclo celular. Los resultados de microscop\u00eda electr\u00f3nica de transmisi\u00f3n (tem) muestran que los nucleosomas solo pueden observarse como unidades separadas en los fragmentos de cromatina preparados bajo condiciones de muy baja fuerza i\u00f3nica. En presencia de concentraciones de cationes mono- y divalentes encontradas en los n\u00facleos interf\u00e1sicos, los fragmentos de cromatina forman estructuras circulares compactas con un di\u00e1metro de aproximadamente 35 nm.  tambi\u00e9n se ha observado que al a\u00f1adir mg2+  los cuerpos compactos de 30-40 nm tienen tendencia a asociarse lateralmente para formar estructuras compactas con capas relativamente planas y lisas en su superficie. Es la primera vez que se observan estas estructuras a partir de fragmentos de cromatina de eritrocitos de pollo. con el objetivo de evitar la deshidrataci\u00f3n de las muestras producida en las
