El an\u00e1lisis modal de los campos en estructuras guiadas permite descomponer un dispositivo complejo en varios elementos m\u00e1s sencillos, que pueden ser analizados de forma separada con el m\u00e9todo m\u00e1s apropiado en cada caso. B\u00e1sicamente, las t\u00e9cnicas modales pueden dividirse en aqu\u00e9llas que analizan uniones en gu\u00eda, y las que calculan las caracter\u00edsticas de propagaci\u00f3n de una gu\u00eda en concreto. Posteriormente, la aplicaci\u00f3n del an\u00e1lisis circuital generalizado permite unir convenientemente estas estructuras. Se ha realizado un an\u00e1lisis de la bibliograf\u00eda que aporta contribuciones en estos campos. Se han implementado las t\u00e9cnicas que se han considerado m\u00e1s eficientes para resolver los problemas concretos, generalizadas a gu\u00edas n-furcadas, que son una extensi\u00f3n de las gu\u00edas bifurcadas. En particular, se han realizado contribuciones en la teor\u00eda del m\u00e9todo de los modos acoplado, para caracterizar gu\u00edas de onda parcialmente rellenas sin restricciones. En casos en los que la geometr\u00eda hac\u00eda imposible el tratamiento anal\u00edtico, se ha recurrido a los elementos finitos de forma h\u00edbrida con las t\u00e9cnicas modales propuestas. Con estas herramientas, se han dise\u00f1ado dispositivos de microondas y se ha validado su comportamiento acudiendo al an\u00e1lisis con otros simuladores.
