En este trabajo se ha realizado un an\u00e1lisis funcional de esta prote\u00edna utilizando una combinaci\u00f3n de aproximaciones gen\u00e9ticas y bioqu\u00edmicas, que incluyen el an\u00e1lisis de los fenotipos en modelos murinos de inactivaci\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna de modo constitutivo y de modo condicional, el estudio de los complejos en los que participa y la identificaci\u00f3n de sus genes diana. Los resultados muestran que rybp es un gen imprescindible para el desarrollo embrionario y que la disminuci\u00f3n de dosis en los ratones heterocigotos da lugar a fenotipos de transformaciones home\u00f3ticas de tipo anterior. Tambi\u00e9n se ha demostrado que rybp ejerce su funci\u00f3n de represi\u00f3n, al menos parcialmente, de modo dependiente de ring1a y ring1b, con las que se asocia en complejos distintos de prc1 en los que est\u00e1n presentes varios componentes no asociados previamente con polycomb. As\u00ed, se ha descrito un nuevo complejo que contiene rybp y varios componentes polycomb junto a la demetilasa de histonas fbxl10 y el represor transcripcional bcor. Por \u00faltimo, se han identificado una variedad de genes regulados por rybp, entre los que destaca un grupo que engloba varios genes espec\u00edficos de l\u00ednea
