Entre ellas, se encuentra la no-volatilidad, la alta capacidad de disolver a otras sustancias y alta estabilidad de temperatura (soportando rangos de 300 grados c sin descomponerse). Estas propiedades, entre otras, los hacen unos buenos sustitutos de otros disolventes tales como los org\u00e1nicos, que por s\u00ed mismos son, en general, t\u00f3xicos, inflamables y de muy dif\u00edcil recuperaci\u00f3n. Por tanto, en la presente tesis doctoral se ha estudiado las diferentes aplicaciones que pueden tener los l\u00edquidos i\u00f3nicos como disolventes en procesos qu\u00edmicos de medida. Entre ellos se ha potenciado el uso de l\u00edquidos i\u00f3nicos como medios de reacci\u00f3n en reacciones org\u00e1nicas y biocatal\u00edticas. As\u00edmismo, se ha estudiado las interacciones que se encuentran entre dos disolventes tales como un l\u00edquido i\u00f3nico y metanol o agua. Por \u00faltimo, se han empleado a los l\u00edquidos i\u00f3nicos como mini-reactores mediante levitaci\u00f3n de un gota de dimensiones milim\u00e9tricas (con un volumen tan solo de algunos nanolitros) aprovechando su propiedad de no-volatilidad, para poder obtener un reactor de volumen constante durante todo el tiempo de medida. La monitorizaci\u00f3n de las distintas aplicaciones explicadas hasta ahora se han llevado a cabo mediante espectroscopia vibracional (infrarrojo y raman). Adem\u00e1s, se han usado t\u00e9cnicas quimiom\u00e9tricas para el tratamiento de los datos experimentales obtenidos mediante la monitorizaci\u00f3n espectrosc\u00f3pica, entre ellas cabe destacar la resoluci\u00f3n de curva multivariante (mcr \u00abmultivariate curve resolution\u00bb) y la espectroscopia de correlaci\u00f3n bidimensional (2cos \u00abtwo-bidimensional correlation spectroscopy\u00bb).
