Las medidas directas son especialmente importantes para evitar errores derivados de la determinaci\u00f3n indirecta y de las medidas directas en campos pulsados. La instalaci\u00f3n permite realizar medidas directas de los par\u00e1metros magnetocal\u00f3ricos , as\u00ed como medir la capacidad calor\u00edfica, por el m\u00e9todo de pulso de calor o por termogramas de enfriamiento y calentamiento, la entalp\u00eda global de la transici\u00f3n y ciclos adiab\u00e1ticos de campo magn\u00e9tico entre 4.2 y 350 k en un campo magn\u00e9tico hasta 6 t. Se ha realizado la calibraci\u00f3n de la termometr\u00eda y se midieron dos compuestos est\u00e1ndar en calorimetr\u00eda, cobre libre de ox\u00edgeno y alta conductividad t\u00e9rmica, y zafiro sint\u00e9tico. Para realizar de manera precisa la medida directa de los par\u00e1metros magnetocal\u00f3ricos ha sido necesario realizar la calibraci\u00f3n de la termometr\u00eda en campo magn\u00e9tico, y estudiar el efecto de las corrientes de foucault a baja temperatura. Los par\u00e1metros magnetocal\u00f3ricos se midieron en el metal gadolinio para comparar con los resultados de otros autores. se ha explicado el origen del error de la relaci\u00f3n de maxwell en una transici\u00f3n de primer orden y se ha demostrado que la ecuaci\u00f3n de clausius-clapeyron tampoco es correcta en transiciones de primer orden con hist\u00e9resis. Sin embargo da errores mucho menores que la relaci\u00f3n de maxwell . Se ha propuesto un m\u00e9todo para corregirlos y la comparaci\u00f3n con medidas directas es muy aceptable.  adem\u00e1s, se han estudiado compuestos que presentan efecto magnetocal\u00f3rico gigante, tanto normal como inverso, y los resultados se han comparado con modelos te\u00f3ricos. en la serie tb(5) (si(x)ge(1-x))(4)  se han estudiado las propiedades t\u00e9rmicas y magn\u00e9ticas de las composiciones con x = 0, 0.5 y 1.
