Adem\u00e1s, para asegurar la efectividad de las formulaciones desarrolladas, las mismas son ensayadas in vitro frente l.Infantum, la intenci\u00f3n es preparar un sistema de liberaci\u00f3n que dirigiera el f\u00e1rmaco a c\u00e9lulas diana  mediante atomizaci\u00f3n. Estas formulaciones deber\u00edan dirigir el f\u00e1rmaco antileishmania a los macr\u00f3fagos, los cuales son las c\u00e9lulas hospedadores del par\u00e1sito leishmania. Si este prop\u00f3sito se consiguiera, se estar\u00eda aumentando la disponibilidad del f\u00e1rmaco y por tanto se podr\u00edan administrar dosis m\u00e1s bajas con la consecuente ventaja de reducir los efectos secundarios y mejorar la eficiencia del tratamiento de un futuro. El objetivo principal se podr\u00eda resumir con el desarrollo y caracterizaci\u00f3n de una formulaci\u00f3n de antimoniato de meglumina utilizando la nanotecnolog\u00eda.  se ha desarrollado adecuadamente un nuevo sistema de liberaci\u00f3n de antimoniato de meglumina mediante la t\u00e9cnica de atomizaci\u00f3n a base de quitos\u00e1n. Todos los valores de ic subindice 50 de antimonio obtenidos por el antimoniato de meglumina encapsulado en las microesferas de quitos\u00e1n ensayadas con promastigotes y amastigotes, son considerablemente inferiores a los valores de las ic subindice 50  obtenidas de la soluci\u00f3n de glucantime\u00ed\u00a2 y proporcionan un \u00edndice de seguridad superior a 1. Adem\u00e1s por primera vez se describe una nueva actividad in vitro del quitos\u00e1n frente l.Infantum con una baja citotoxicidad en ensayos con macr\u00f3fagos (patenepp200700968). Se demuestra la vehiculizaci\u00f3n de las microesferas de quitos\u00e1n a los macr\u00f3fagos mediante los estudios de recaptaci\u00f3n utilizando puntos qu\u00e1nticos. Tambi\u00e9n se ha desarrollado satisfactoriamente un m\u00e9todo para estudiar el perfil de liberaci\u00f3n del antimoniato de meglumina contenido en mocroesferes de
