En esta tesis se han preparado l\u00e1minas delgadas de \u00f3xido de niobio (v) por la t\u00e9cnica de spray pir\u00f3lisis, fijando las condiciones y variables experimentales en el dispositivo experimental para obtener recubrimientos con propiedades electrocr\u00f3micas aceptables (como una eficiencia de coloraci\u00f3n en torno a 30-40 cm2\/c) para su integraci\u00f3n en dispositivos electrocr\u00f3micos. Las distintas muestras en estudio han sido caracterizadas mediante difracci\u00f3n de rayos-x, microscopia electr\u00f3nica de barrido y espectroscopia de fotoelectrones de rayos-x para determinar sus propiedades estructurales, morfol\u00f3gicas y composici\u00f3n qu\u00edmica. Tanto la respuesta electroqu\u00edmica como electrocr\u00f3mica, estimada a partir de diferentes t\u00e9cnicas electroqu\u00edmicas y medidas de transmisi\u00f3n \u00f3ptica in situ, se han interrelacionado con su caracterizaci\u00f3n estructural para fijar las condiciones experimentales y tratamientos t\u00e9rmicos posteriores. Igualmente se han dopado las capas de \u00f3xido de niobio (v) para optimizar su respuesta electroqu\u00edmica utilizando los elementos dopantes litio, molibdeno y titanio. Mediante dopaje se ha mejorado la estabilidad y respuesta electroqu\u00edmica del \u00f3xido con el empleo de litio y se ha conseguido una coloraci\u00f3n gris cuando el \u00f3xido se dopa con molibdeno.
