Los principales resultados y conclusiones han sido extra\u00eddos de tres publicaciones realizadas durante el periodo de doctorado del autor:     un algoritmo de estimaci\u00f3n de lluvia usando productos de sat\u00e9lite, la validaci\u00f3n de un modelo de predicci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes msg (metcast) y un algoritmo de clasificaci\u00f3n de nubes utilizando los canales ir y vis del sat\u00e9lite meteosat.     el modelo metcast tiende a intraestimar los valores de temperatura de brillo de las im\u00e1genes msg, per realiza un buen pron\u00f3stico de la posici\u00f3n de la cobertura nubosa. Las clases estad\u00edsticas de la clasificaci\u00f3n de nubes corresponden con las clases tem\u00e1ticas esperadas, es por ello que se utiliz\u00f3 para inicializar el modelo de estimaci\u00f3n de lluvia resat. Resat tiende a sobrestimar los valores de lluvia, pero presenta una buena estimaci\u00f3n para rangos altos de la temperatura de brillo gracias a la inclusi\u00f3n de la clasificaci\u00f3n de
