El descubrimiento de las actividades biol\u00f3gicas de la 1,a25-dihidroxivitamin d3, la forma hormonalmente activa, ha permitido utilizar la vitamina d3 en el tratamiento de enfermedades tales como el c\u00e1ncer, la psoriasis, la osteoporosis, la artritis reumatoide y la esclerosis m\u00faltiple. en esta tesis doctoral, queha sido dividida en tres cap\u00edtulos, se ha realizado la s\u00edntesis y la evauaci\u00f3n biol\u00f3gica de nuevos an\u00e1logos de la vitamina d3. en el primer cap\u00edtulo se han desarrollado m\u00e9todos sencillos que proporcionan un f\u00e1cil acceso a la s\u00edntesis de an\u00e1logos de los \u00e1cidos qu\u00ednico y siqu\u00edmico, incluyen el (-)-4-epi-siquimato de metilo y los 4,5-epoxi derivados de los mencionados \u00e1cidos, que son importantes sintones quirales para la preparaci\u00f3n de nuevos an\u00e1logos de la 1a,25-dihidroxivitamina d3. Adem\u00e1s, estos derivados ep\u00f3xido se transformaron en scyllo-quinato de metilo y (+)-3-epi-siquimato de metilo mediante procesos que implican la apertura regio- y estereoselectiva del anillo del ep\u00f3xido. Los resultados obtenidos han sido publicados en: novel and efficient synthesis of (-)-methyl 4-epi-shikimate and 4,5-epoxy-quinic and -shikimic acid derivatives as key precursors to prepare new analogues. Chem., 2006, 71, 5396-5399. el segundo cap\u00edtulo describe la s\u00edntesis de nuevos an\u00e1logos de la previtamin d3, bloqueados en la forma 6-s-cis, a partir del \u00e1cido siqu\u00edmico y sus correspondientes is\u00f3meros 3-epi, 4-epi y 5-epi. Se ha evaluado in vitro la actividad biol\u00f3gica de estos an\u00e1logos.
