El an\u00e1lisis de las bases gen\u00e9ticas que regulan la resistencia vegetal a este tipo de pat\u00f3genos, ha permitido comprobar que \u00e9stas son gen\u00e9ticamente complejas y dependientes de diversas rutas de transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1al, inclu\u00eddas las mediadas por el etileno, el \u00e1cido jasm\u00f3nico y el \u00e1cido salic\u00edlico (llorente y col., 2005). Para conocer con mayor detalle los mecanismos de defensa vegetal frente a necrotrofos, se analiz\u00f3 la resistencia a estos pat\u00f3genos de mutantes de arabiopsis thaliana  alterados en diferentes rutas de transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1al. Los resultados obtenidos revelaron que la primera l\u00ednea de defensa frente a pat\u00f3genos no-adaptados tambi\u00e9n es necesaria para la resistencia basal de arabisopsis a hongos necrotrofos compatibles, ya que los mutantes pen, alterados en resistencia no-hu\u00e9sped, mostraron mayor susceptibilidad a los hongos testados que las plantas silvestres. Adem\u00e1s, el an\u00e1lisis de la  resistencia de diversos mutantes de pared celular apoya la funci\u00f3n relevante de esta barrera estructural en defensa frente a pat\u00f3genos vegetales. Del mismo modo, nadph oxidasas que median la producci\u00f3n de especies reactivas de ox\u00edgeno apopl\u00e1sticas durante la respuesta de defensa (torres y dangl, 2005) parecen ser necesarias para la resistencia de arabidopsis a los ascomicetos botrytis cinerea y plectosphaerella cucumerina. La resistencia de arabidopsis thaliana a p. Cucumerina depende de erecta (er), una prote\u00edna rlk (prote\u00edna tipo quinasa; receptor-like-kinase; llorente y col., 2005). Erecta, que regula varios procesos de desarrollo vegetal (torri y col., 1996), parece tener una funci\u00f3n esencial en defensa inmune vegetal, ya que los mutantes er tambi\u00e9n muestran una mayor susceptibilidad a los pat\u00f3genos del suelo ralstonia solanacearum y pythium irregulare (godiard y col., 2003, adie y col., 2007).
