Este peque\u00f1o pez tiene ciertas caracter\u00edsticas, como un ciclo de vida corto, migraciones estaci\u00f3nales, tasas de crecimiento altas, edad de primera reproducci\u00f3n temprana, \u00e9poca de puesta larga y comportamiento de cardumen. Todo esto supone que sufra grandes fluctuaciones interanuales debido a la variabilidad del reclutamiento de juveniles. Hasta la fecha los estudios de crecimiento sobre la anchoa europea se basaban en la dataci\u00f3n de la edad por periodos anuales, realiz\u00e1ndose la gesti\u00f3n y seguimiento del recurso. El uso de t\u00e9cnicas de crecimiento diario permite descubrir aspectos sobre el crecimiento y su relaci\u00f3n con el medio ambiente. Permitiendo as\u00ed, obtener la distribuci\u00f3n de los juveniles por meses de nacimiento (es decir los supervivientes de la fase larvaria) y compararla no solo entre a\u00f1os sino tambi\u00e9n ver las variaciones que se producen a lo largo del a\u00f1o y su relaci\u00f3n con las condiciones oceanogr\u00e1ficas reinantes en los distintos periodos del a\u00f1o. En esta tesis, se desarrolla y aplica esta t\u00e9cnica para el estudio y gesti\u00f3n de la anchoa europea. Validando, por primera vez el significado temporal de la formaci\u00f3n diaria de los anillos de crecimiento en esta especie. Analizando el patr\u00f3n de crecimiento con ayuda del microscopio electr\u00f3nico de barrido y aplicando la metodolog\u00eda al reclutamiento para el a\u00f1o 1999 con el fin de probar ideas existentes sobre la anchoa. Obteni\u00e9ndose no solo la distribuci\u00f3n de supervivientes para ese a\u00f1o, sino que tambi\u00e9n, y por primera vez una curva de crecimiento para los primeros meses de vida de la anchoa
