Con productos aislados de la planta (diterpenos ent-kaur\u00e9nicos) se llevan a cabo transformaciones microbiol\u00f3gicas: tres de ellas con ent-kaurenos hidroxilados en la posici\u00f3n 7-alfa, y cuatro acetilados en la posici\u00f3n 7-beta, con la intenci\u00f3n de estudiar su biotransformaci\u00f3n por el hongo gibberella fujikuroi. De los sustratos hidroxilados en posici\u00f3n 7-alfa se concluye que no siguen la ruta de las giberelinas o kaurenolidas, pudiendo, seg\u00fan otras funciones oxigenadas presentes, seguir la ruta de los sustratos con anillo b abierto u oxidaciones en el doble enlace exoc\u00edclico o en el anillo a. Con respecto a los sustratos 7-beta-acetilados, al igual que los anteriores tampoco sufren contracci\u00f3n del anillo b, ni generan kaurenolidas, permiti\u00e9ndose las oxidaciones sobre el anillo a. con productos obtenidos de la planta anteriormente mencionada, as\u00ed como de las biotransformaciones, se llevaron a cabo transformaciones qu\u00edmicas sobre diterpenos convenientemente funcionalizados, para obtener giberelinas o an\u00e1logos. Se sintetizaron diterpenos portadores de un grupo oxo en c-7, sobre los que se llev\u00f3 a cabo la reacci\u00f3n de contracci\u00f3n del anillo b, obteni\u00e9ndose, seg\u00fan las funciones presentes en c-18 \u00f3 c-19, deshidrogenaci\u00f3n en c-5,c-6 para generar la cetona alfa-beta-insaturada, o bien la contracci\u00f3n del anillo b esperada. finalmente, con una amplia variedad de sustratos obtenidos de la planta, por medio de biotransformaciones o por v\u00eda sint\u00e9tica, se llevaron a cabo estudios de su actividad biol\u00f3gica, evaluando su actividad alelop\u00e1tica, en concreto, su influencia sobre el crecimiento radicular y sobre la germinaci\u00f3n de semillas, observ\u00e1ndose que la presencia de un grupo hidroxilo en c-7 \u00f3 c-15 es importante para esta
