En la presente tesis doctoral,  se ha explorado el motivo por el cual la competencia neural solo es adquirida en este subdominio. En primer lugar se han descrito los distintos genes expresados en las etapas tempanas del desarrollo del o\u00eddo y se ha visto que los dominios proneural y no-neural del territorio \u00f3tico presentan dominios de expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica complementarios. Despu\u00e9s, se ha analizado el papel de las v\u00edas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n notch y fgf en la adquisici\u00f3n del car\u00e1cter neural en el subdominio anterior del territorio \u00f3tico. Se ha visto que la via de senyalizaci\u00f3n notch es necesaria para la restricci\u00f3n de los genes posteriores lmx1 y irx1 en el dominio no-neural, as\u00ed como para regular la poblaci\u00f3n de neuroblastos. Tambi\u00e9n se ha visto que la acci\u00f3n de fgf8 y fgf10 localizados en el ectodermo \u00f3tico promueven la acci\u00f3n de sox3 que, a su vez, es necesaria para el establecimiento del dominio competente neural en el territorio \u00f3tico y la posterior neurogenesis. De modo que, por un lado las se\u00f1ales fgf y la actividad sox3 son esenciales por la especificaci\u00f3n del dominio proneural y por el otro, la v\u00eda notch es necesaria para el refinamiento de
