Se presentan adem\u00e1s t\u00e9cnicas matem\u00e1ticas aparejadas al an\u00e1lisis de esos datos:  para la monitorizaci\u00f3n in-situ de magnitudes del oc\u00e9ano se ha utilizado la red de oceanograf\u00eda y meteorolog\u00eda de puertos del estado. Llev\u00e1ndose a cabo un an\u00e1lisis de la se\u00f1al estacional en el nivel del mar y en la temperatura superficial del agua del mar, as\u00ed como oscilaciones de corto periodo en medidas de mare\u00f3grafos.  en el caso de la monitorizaci\u00f3n por sat\u00e9lite se han utilizado datos provenientes de distintos sat\u00e9lites (desde sat\u00e9lites altim\u00e9tricos hasta misiones dedicadas a la gravedad) para realizar un an\u00e1lisis de tendencias en el mar mediterr\u00e1neo.  finalmente se ofrece una visi\u00f3n general de las iniciativas internacionales en redes de monitorizaci\u00f3n globales utilizando sensores in-situ y montados en sat\u00e9lites, y se recalca la importancia de utilizar conjuntamente la informaci\u00f3n proporcionada por ambos tipos de sensores.  se adjuntan distintos anexos que pueden ser considerados como una introducci\u00f3n a la teledetecci\u00f3n por sat\u00e9lite.
