Los modelos m\u00e1s habituales que se utilizan tradicionalmente en este \u00e1mbito son los modelos de m\u00e1xima rigidez. Estos modelos pretenden encontrar la estructura de m\u00e1xima rigidez empleando un volumen de material prefijado. Este tipo de formulaciones presenta serios inconvenientes ya que no se impone ninguna restricci\u00f3n en tensiones que garantice la validez de la estructura y ademas producen soluciones indeseadas (disposici\u00f3n en damero)  en esta tesis se presenta una formulaci\u00f3n distinta basada en la minimizaci\u00f3n del coste de la estructura con restricciones en tensi\u00f3n y\/o desplazamientos. Los problemas as\u00ed planteados son m\u00e1s realistas desde el punto de vista de la ingenier\u00eda porque minimizan el coste de la soluci\u00f3n estructural cumpliendo las exigencias estructurales establecidas. Adem\u00e1s, se evitan las inestabilidades que se proponen diferentes formulaciones que incorporan restricciones en tensi\u00f3n y se establece un procedimiento de optimizaci\u00f3n espec\u00edfico que incorpora un algoritmo de optimizaci\u00f3n y un desarrollo anal\u00edtico del an\u00e1lisis de sensibilidad requerido.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
