En nuestro estudio hemos demostrado que la expresi\u00f3n de las principales prote\u00ednas reguladoras de muerte celular dependiente de caspasas se reprime durante el desarrollo card\u00edaco. En correlaci\u00f3n con este hecho hemos observado que la muerte celular inducida por isquemia es dependiente de caspasas en cardiomiocitos embrionales, mientras que los cardiomiocitos postmit\u00f3ticos mueren de forma independiente de caspasas. En nuestro trabajo hemos demostrado tambi\u00e9n que endonucleasa g (endog) es la principal nucleasa responsable de la degradaci\u00f3n de adn en los cardiomiocitos postnatales durante la isquemia, y en particular de la se\u00f1al positiva de tunel, mientras que apoptosis-inducing factor (aif) podr\u00eda proteger la supervivencia de los cardiomiocitos durante la reoxigenaci\u00f3n. La relevancia de ambas mol\u00e9culas correlaciona con nuestros resultados en los que endog y aif aumentan su expresi\u00f3n durante el desarrollo card\u00edaco. Por \u00faltimo, hemos determinado que bnip3, miembro de la familia de bcl2, induce el proceso de degradaci\u00f3n de adn dependiente de endog durante la isquemia cardiaca sin impedir la salida de esta prote\u00edna de la mitocondria. hace m\u00e1s de una d\u00e9cada que se sugiri\u00f3 por primera vez la relevancia de la muerte apopt\u00f3tica en el coraz\u00f3n en contraposici\u00f3n a la muerte necr\u00f3tica. A pesar de que se ha sugerido la implicaci\u00f3n de la v\u00eda apopt\u00f3tica dependiente de receptores de muerte, as\u00ed como de la v\u00eda mitocondrial, e incluso se ha descartado la implicaci\u00f3n de caspasas en la muerte isqu\u00e9mica, hoy en d\u00eda a\u00fan se desconocen muchos de los mecanismos implicados en este proceso.
