La validez del uso de aloinjertos a\u00f3rticos criopreservados como membranas de regeneraci\u00f3n \u00f3sea guiada fue puesta de manifiesto con anterioridad por nuestro grupo investigador en defectos de radio de conejo. Esta tesis doctoral parte de la hip\u00f3tesis de que la arteria funciona favoreciendo la regeneraci\u00f3n \u00f3sea no s\u00f3lo por un mecanismo de barrera sino que determinados elementos celulares a nivel de su pared podr\u00edan participar de forma activa en el proceso reparador del hueso, de forma an\u00e1loga a los procesos de calcificaci\u00f3n en el seno de la placa ateroscler\u00f3tica. Para ello, se ha evaluado la capacidad de calcificaci\u00f3n de la aorta tor\u00e1cica de conejo in vivo y se ha estudiado la pared arterial de aortas fresca y criopreservada descongelada mediante t\u00e9cnicas de cultivo celular e inmunocitoqu\u00edmica, as\u00ed como la disposici\u00f3n espacial de las c\u00e9lulas obtenidas mediante t\u00e9cnicas de microscop\u00eda electr\u00f3nica de transmisi\u00f3n y barrido, y su capacidad de experimentar calcificaci\u00f3n. Para evaluar la capacidad de regeneraci\u00f3n \u00f3sea guiada de la arteria frente a otras membranas, se ha hecho un estudio comparativo de aorta criopreservada descongelada frente a membranas sint\u00e9ticas de ptfee (patr\u00f3n oro en regeneraci\u00f3n \u00f3sea guiada) en el tratamiento de defectos de radio de conejo, mediante t\u00e9cnicas de imagen, microscop\u00eda \u00f3ptica y microscop\u00eda electr\u00f3nica de transmisi\u00f3n. Con el objetivo de determinar las posibles ventajas de la arteria desde el punto de vista estructural se ha hecho un estudio comparativo entre aloinjertos a\u00f3rticos criopreservados y membranas de
