El material del trasfondo ling\u00ed\u00bc\u00edstico (background) de la oraci\u00f3n se trata como una serie de elementos anaf\u00f3ricos en sentido estricto. Aunque tengan m\u00e1s contenido descriptivo, comparten las mismas caracter\u00edsticas con otros tipos de an\u00e1fora en t\u00e9rminos de restricciones de localidad y del tipo sem\u00e1ntico. Se rechaza un tratamiento del background de la oraci\u00f3n como una unidad at\u00f3mica. En este trabajo se argumenta que el background se puede construir a partir de elementos m\u00e1s fundamentales, llamados links y tails (siguiendo vallduv\u00ed, 1992).
