En este estudio se han definido par\u00e1metros v\u00e1lidos para el establecimiento de criterios comparativos entre los diferentes esquemas de transmisi\u00f3n tratados en los que se ponen de manifiesto las particularidades del canal \u00f3ptico difuso en ambiente de interior. A partir de la definici\u00f3n de dichos par\u00e1metros se plantea el an\u00e1lisis de t\u00e9cnicas de modulaci\u00f3n de tasa adaptativa propuestas en la bibliograf\u00eda, prestando especial inter\u00e9s por los esquemas de inserci\u00f3n de intervalos de silencio. Por otro lado y, teniendo en cuenta los est\u00e1ndares m\u00e1s actuales, se emplea un novedoso enfoque basado en el tratamiento de las t\u00e9cnicas mencionadas desde el punto de vista de generaci\u00f3n de secuencias de longitud constre\u00f1ida. Por \u00faltimo se propone, como una de las aportaciones principales de esta tesis, el dise\u00f1o de esquemas de codificaci\u00f3n bloque basados en tablas de traducci\u00f3n que utilizan palabras c\u00f3digo con peso hamming variable, denominado vw-mppm. En este sentido, se realiza un estudio profundo de dicho esquema propuesto en el que se muestra la mejora en las prestaciones en relaci\u00f3n a las t\u00e9cnicas existentes hasta el momento. Por \u00faltimo, se proponen l\u00edneas futuras de investigaci\u00f3n en las que se pone de manifiesto la relevancia tanto de los par\u00e1metros definidos en esta tesis como del esquema vw-mppm
