La activaci\u00f3n de benzaldeh\u00eddo y benzaldeh\u00eddos para-sustituidos ocurre en laposici\u00f3n orto del sustituyente fenilo. Cuando el benzaldeh\u00eddo est\u00e1 sustituido en posici\u00f3n meta, la selectividad del proceso dependedel sustituyente. El grupo metoxi no genera selectividad, mientras que un fragmento trifluorometilo favorece la activaci\u00f3n del enlaceorto-ch menos congestionado. La activaci\u00f3n de 3-furaldeh\u00eddo y de 1-ciclohexen-l-carboxaldeh\u00eddo tiene lugar en uno de los enlacescbeta-h.El complejo osh3(snph2c1){h2-ch2=c(ch3)]pipr2}(pipr3) tambi\u00e9n activa enlaces c(sp2)-h de 2-vinilpiridina,(e)-n-(fenilmetilen)-2-piridinamina y cetonas alfa,beta-insturadas para dar heterometalaciclos de cinco miembros. En sustratos quecontienen grupos arom\u00e1ticos y olef\u00ednicos, como la bencilidenacetofenona, se observa selectividad cin\u00e9tica hacia la activaci\u00f3n delenlace cbeta(sp2)-h oleflnico y termodin\u00e1mica hacia la del enlace orto c-h del sustituyente fenilo.El complejo hexahidruro osh6(pipr3)2 activa uno de los enlaces c(sp3)-h de un grupo metilo de 8-metilquinole\u00edna y de2-(dimetilamino)piridina para dar derivados trihidruro &#8211; heterometalaciclo que muestran intercambio de posici\u00f3n entre los \u00e1tomos dehidr\u00f3geno unidos al centro met\u00e1lico y de \u00e9stos con los del grupo metileno del heterometalaciclo. El asistente quinole\u00edna proporcionaenerg\u00edas de activaci\u00f3n menores que el asistente 2-metilaminopiridina para el intercambio hidruro &#8211; metileno. Los complejostrihidruro &#8211; heterometalaciclo muestan un comportamiento sensiblemente diferente frente a la protonaci\u00f3n con hbf4.
