Se caracterizan principalmente por tener un dominio de uni\u00f3n a dna b\u00e1sico seguido de una cremallera de leucinas que permite la formaci\u00f3n de homo o heterod\u00edmeros. En plantas el primer bzip caracterizado fue el gen opaque2 de ma\u00edz que regula en semilla la expresi\u00f3n de genes que codifican prote\u00ednas de reserva (ssps). En cebada, hasta el momento, se han descrito los factores bzip, blz1 y blz2, pertenecientes a la subfamilia opaco-2 que regulan positivamente la expresi\u00f3n de genes especificos de endospermo como hor2 e itr1. Partiendo de estos datos, en esta tesis se plante\u00f3 la b\u00fasqueda de nuevos factores bzip de la subfamilia opaco- 2 en cebada y la exploraci\u00f3n de su posible papel durante el desarrollo y germinaci\u00f3n de la semilla. Por otro lado se investig\u00f3 si los bzip de la subfamilia opaco-2, blz1 y blz2, cuyo papel en la maduraci\u00f3n de la semilla ya hab\u00eda sido descrito, ten\u00edan alguna funci\u00f3n en la aleurona en germinaci\u00f3n. se han identificado dos nuevos factores bzip de la subfamilia opaco-2 en cebada, blz3 y blz4. El an\u00e1lisis filogen\u00e9tico realizado con los factores bzip de la subfamilia opaco-2 descritos hasta el momento en hordeum vulgare (cebada), oryza sativa (arroz) y arabidopsis thaliana, muestran una clara divisi\u00f3n en dos grupos. Al primero de ellos pertenecen los factores blz1 y blz2, sus correspondientes ort\u00f3logos en arroz y tres de los cuatro genes de arabidopsis, mientras que al segundo grupo pertenecen atbzip9 de arabidopsis, blz3 y blz4 de cebada y sus correspondientes ort\u00f3logos en arroz. en el endospermo en desarrollo de la semilla de cebada, se ha determinado que blz3 y blz4 se comportan, igual que blz1 y blz2, como activadores trasncripcionales de la expresi\u00f3n del gen hor2, que codifica la prote\u00edna de reserva b-horde\u00edna.
