Tambien se desarrollan esquemas numericos para integrar varias ecuaciones de la optica no lineal:  ecuaciones de maxwell-bloch y schrodinger no lineal, y se estudian algunas aplicaciones. Por otro lado se analizan algunos ejemplos de sistemas caoticos: un sistema de dos osciladores acoplados y un modelo de ondas planas no lineales; este ultimo sistema presenta coexistencia de varias rutas al caos. En otro capitulo se analiza el efecto de nuevos terminos de perdidas en los patrones espaciales de un laser de alto numero de fresnel.
