El tratamientos de los oligonucle\u00f3tidos antisentido, as\u00ed como anticuerpo anticlusterina, por s\u00ed mismo producen un efecto significativo en la mortalidad de las c\u00e9lulas de c\u00e1ncer de mama, y a su vez, su adici\u00f3n a la quimioterapia y hormonoterapia convencional potencia el efecto citot\u00f3xico de dichos tratamientos al sensibilizar a las c\u00e9lulas tumorales de mama a los citost\u00e1ticos com\u00fanmente usados en la terapia contra el c\u00e1ncer de mama. As\u00ed mismo, la dexametasona, utilizada cl\u00ednicamente para revertir los efectos secundarios de los quimioter\u00e1picos convencionales (placitaxol y doxorubicina), inhibe la citotoxicidad inducida por los mismos, probablemente po la inducci\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas inhibidoras de la apoptosis y relacionadas con la progresi\u00f3n del tumor, entre ellas la clusterina. Sin embargo, la adici\u00f3n de tratamientos con oligonucl\u00e9otido antisentido de clusterina as\u00ed como con anticuerpo anticlusterina contrarrestan dicho efecto al aumentar la mortalidad celular. El tratamiento anticlusterina puede ser una estrategia atractiva y novedosa para inhibir la progresi\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer de mama. M\u00e1s a\u00fan, dado el amplio uso cl\u00ednico de la administraci\u00f3n de dexametasona antes de la quimioterapia, la comprensi\u00f3n de los mecanismos de supervivencia inducidos por
