Por lo que, se plante\u00f3 como objetivo caracterizar las propiedades magn\u00e9ticas de los suelos del \u00e1rea mediterr\u00e1nea y conocer c\u00f3mo se relacionaban estas propiedades con otras referentes a la formaci\u00f3n y evoluci\u00f3n de los \u00f3xidos de fe en los suelos. para ello, se estudi\u00f3 la transformaci\u00f3n de ferrihidrita en hematites, en condiciones an\u00e1logas a las ambientales, y se seleccionaron sesenta y ocho muestras de suelo correspondientes a distintas zonas del \u00e1rea mediterr\u00e1nea. La ferrihidrita mostr\u00f3 un aumento en las propiedades magn\u00e9ticas en el estadio intermedio de su transformaci\u00f3n, que supuso la formaci\u00f3n de un \u00f3xido de fe ferrimagn\u00e9tico con caracter\u00edsticas an\u00e1logas a las de la maghemita-hidromaghemita. Esta transformaci\u00f3n fue altamente dependiente de la temperatura, de la humedad relativa y del tipo y proporci\u00f3n de adsorbato a\u00f1adido en la s\u00edntesis inicial. los suelos mostraron unos valores de susceptibilidad magn\u00e9tica muy diversos, encontr\u00e1ndose los m\u00e1s altos en la fracci\u00f3n arcilla. Los componentes magn\u00e9ticos existen en ellos, ten\u00edan car\u00e1cter superparamagn\u00e9tico y estaban constituidos, principalmente, por maghemita-hidromaghemita y magnetita pedog\u00e9nica.
