Adem\u00e1s de la fabricaci\u00f3n y caracterizaci\u00f3n de estos materiales a escala nanosc\u00f3pica, el trabajo realizado ha requerido obtenewr una comprensi\u00f3n fundamental de los mecanismos de formaci\u00f3n de nanopart\u00edculas met\u00e1licas, as\u00ed como de sus propiedades \u00f3pticas, incluyendo la modelizaci\u00f3n de las mismas. Se ha llevado a cabo as\u00edmismo un trabajo exhaustivo de modificaci\u00f3n superficial de nanotubos de carbono que permitiese la organizaci\u00f3n de nanopart\u00edculas y la obtenci\u00f3n de las propiedades de inter\u00e9s. Finalmente, algunas de las nanoestructuras complejas obtenidas se emplearon como elementos b\u00e1sicos para la organizaci\u00f3n monodimensional sobre superficies, bajo campos magn\u00e9ticos
