Esta patolog\u00eda mamaria posee caracter\u00edsticas diferenciales desde el punto de vista gen\u00e9tico, biol\u00f3gico y de comportamiento cl\u00ednico. poco se sabe acerca de las alteraciones g\u00e9nicas relacionadas con la etiolog\u00eda y progresi\u00f3n de la enfermedad, por ello el proyecto a realizar se centra en el an\u00e1lisis de la expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica del carcinoma inflamatorio canino respecto a tejido mamario sano y carcinomas distintos al carcinoma inflamatorio de la misma especie, con dos vertientes; el estudio de genes conocidos candidatos funcionales y el estudio de expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica mediante sistemas abiertos, que permiten el an\u00e1lisis de expresi\u00f3n sin conocimiento previo de los genes analizados. la detecci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n diferencial de genes se llev\u00f3 a cabo mediante la t\u00e9cnica differential display, y se obtuvieron patrones transcripcionales distintos entre pacientes con carcinoma inflamatorio, carcinomas mamarios distintos al carcinoma inflamatorio e individuos sanos, encontrando un total de 38 bandas que presentaban diferencias en intensidad o presencia entre los grupos de animales. dentro de los genes candidatos se seleccionaron aquellos genes previamente relacionados con c\u00e1nceres mamarios \u00f3 implicados en rutas metab\u00f3licas importantes en el desarrollo del c\u00e1ncer de mama tanto en la especie humana como canina.
