En el 89,4% de los casos el cromosoma 21 extra tiene su origen en un error en meiosis femenina humana. Por ello, creemos que los mecanismos intr\u00ednsecos de desarrollo de los procesos mei\u00f3ticos m\u00e1s caracter\u00edsticos durante la meiosis femenina humana podr\u00edan influir sobre esta preponderante tasa de trisom\u00eda 21 de origen materno.  en este estudio, se analizaron los procesos mei\u00f3ticos m\u00e1s importantes como son los procesos de apareamiento, sinopsis y recombinaci\u00f3n en general y sobre el cromosoma 21, ya que estos procesos no solo generan variabilidad gen\u00e9tica sino que tambi\u00e9n condicionan el buen funcionamiento de otros posteriores e igual de importantes como es la segregaci\u00f3n de cromosomas hom\u00f3logos en anafase 1. los resultados obtenidos han demostrado como estos procesos de apareamiento, sinopsis y recombinaci\u00f3n sobre el cromosoma 21 presentan una gran eficiencia, pudi\u00e9ndose descartar as\u00ed su implicaci\u00f3n en el origen de la trisom\u00eda 21. En este sentido, estos datos nos llevan a proponer que los factores ambientales entre ellos la edad materna jugar\u00edan un papel crucial en estos casos. adem\u00e1s, en esta tesis tambi\u00e9n se analiz\u00f3 por primera vez la influencia que tendr\u00eda la presencia de una cromosoma 21 extra sobre la progresi\u00f3n de los procesos de apareamiento, sinopsis y recombinaci\u00f3n. Estos resultados han demostrado que la presencia de una cromosoma 21 extra interfiere en el desarrollo de estos procesos provocando un retraso en su desarrollo, y por lo tanto sobre la progresi\u00f3n
