Igualmente se describen los principales procesos de evoluci\u00f3n de las barreras de ingenier\u00eda, y los modelos existentes,  basados en las leyes que  rigen los principales procesos.  sobre esta base, y mediante un conjunto importante de ensayos espec\u00edficos, se han propuesto avances en los modelos anteriores, present\u00e1ndose un modelo integrado.  Se ha prestado especial atenci\u00f3n a la evoluci\u00f3n del contenido y flujo de agua en medios porosos de baja permeabilidad, y, en particular en los hormigones, en las distintas condiciones de temperatura y humedad esperables en las diversas fases de la vida \u00fatil de la instalaci\u00f3n, tanto en el periodo de explotaci\u00f3n, con las estructuras sometidas a la intemperie, como en las condiciones esperadas en el largo plazo, tras el sellado del almacenamiento con la cobertura a largo plazo. Se realiza un resumen de los mencionados trabajos experimentales espec\u00edficos, que permiten, por un lado,  la verificaci\u00f3n de los modelos,  de modo que \u00e9stos no se limiten a un ejercicio num\u00e9rico; y que, por otro lado, deben servir de referencia en la evaluaci\u00f3n de las estructuras en esas condiciones, y constituir una buena base para futuros
