Los efectos psicomotores de los cannabinoides parecen ser consistentes con la distribuci\u00f3n neuroanat\u00f3mica del receptor cannabinoide cb1, el cual se encuentra ampliamente expresado en  los ganglios basales.  la implicaci\u00f3n del sistema cannabinoide end\u00f3geno en la regulaci\u00f3n y control motor de los ganglios basales plantea tambi\u00e9n su participaci\u00f3n en los trastornos psicomotores relacionados con estos n\u00facleos, tal como ocurre en enfermedades neurodegenerativas como la enfermedad de parkinson.  por todo ello algunos autores han sugerido recientemente el uso de los derivados cannabinoides en la terap\u00e9utica de los trastornos relacionados con el comportamiento motor.  los estudios electrofisiol\u00f3gicos in vivo mostraron que la administraci\u00f3n de 9-thc estimula la frecuencia de descarga de las neuronas de la snpc. Este efecto est\u00e1 mediado por el receptor cb1 e implica la participaci\u00f3n de amino\u00e1cidos excitatorios liberados desde el nst. Por otro lado, 9-thc y el endocannabinoide anandamida estimula o inhibe la frecuencia de descarga de las neuronas del nst, dependiendo de su localizaci\u00f3n dentro de dicho n\u00facleo. Estos efectos est\u00e1n mediados por la interacci\u00f3n de los cannabinoides con la neurotransmisi\u00f3n gaba\u00e9rgica y glutamat\u00e9rgica.  la denervaci\u00f3n dopamin\u00e9rgica cambi\u00f3 el efecto de los cannabinoides sobre el nst, ya que inhibieron la actividad el\u00e9ctrica de las neuronas de este n\u00facleo en ratas lesionadas con 6-ohda, a diferencia de lo que hab\u00eda sido observado ratas intactas. El efecto inhibitorio sobre el nst inducido por la administraci\u00f3n de agonistas cannabinoides en ratas lesionadas con 6-ohda sugiere un posible efecto
