Actualmente se conocen 15 grupos de enzimas con esta actividad, de ellas, la cpla2 de grupo iva tiene un papel fundamental en la liberaci\u00f3n del aa que posteriormente ser\u00e1 metabolizado a  eicosanoides en c\u00e9lulas activadas por agonistas. Buena prueba de ello lo ofrecen los modelos animales transg\u00e9nicos carentes de esta enzima. La finalidad de esta tesis doctoral es conocer el mecanismo molecular por el que el pip2 produce un aumento tanto en la actividad intr\u00ednseca de la cpla2 como en su afinidad a membranas \u00abin vivo\u00bb y la implicaci\u00f3n de la cpla2 en procesos de muerte celular y fagocitosis.
