Existe una familia de ptps de reciente descubrimiento cuya caracter\u00edstica es su bajo peso molecular, debido a la ausencia de un dominio espec\u00edfico de reconocimiento de sus sustratos (el cual es t\u00edpico en los dem\u00e1s integrantes de la superfamilia de ptps). Las prote\u00ednas de esta nueva familia son denominadas dusps at\u00edpicas, encontr\u00e1ndose 18 genes en humanos. Dado su reciente descubrimiento, la biolog\u00eda de estas prote\u00ednas es, en muchos casos, poco conocida. En esta tesis se aborda el estudio comparativo de cuatro miembros de la familia de dusps at\u00edpicas (dusp18, dusp19, dusp22 y vhr). Para ello, se han realizado estudios sobre sus propiedades enzim\u00e1ticas, estudios sobre la implicaci\u00f3n de estas cuatro prote\u00ednas en la regulaci\u00f3n de las rutas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de las map quinasas y estudios sobre el mecanismo molecular de reconocimiento del sustrato de estas fosfatasas. Para llevar a cabo estos estudios, se han realizado t\u00e9cnicas bioqu\u00edmicas y de biolog\u00eda molecular y celular.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
