Es una t\u00e9cnica joven en pleno desarrollo que todav\u00eda no se ha establecido como m\u00e9todo habitual de inspecci\u00f3n en los hospitales y que en 2007, comienza a incorporse como software en los ec\u00f3grafos comerciales de las principales marcas.  La funci\u00f3n de esta t\u00e9cnica es ayudar y complementar la fase de detecci\u00f3n reduciendo el n\u00famero de biopsias. No produce ning\u00fan efecto secundario, aunque no puede sustituir a la mamograf\u00eda que para determinados c\u00e1nceres, es el \u00fanico m\u00e9todo comprobado de detecci\u00f3n. El presente trabajo trata de mejorar los resultados de esta t\u00e9cnica haciendo aportaciones en distintas areas: la fase de s\u00edntesis de fantomas espec\u00edficos, la estimaci\u00f3n del campo de desplazamientos, el filtrado, y la visualizaci\u00f3n. Se presenta nuevos materiales y fantomas que pueden ayudar a la experimentaci\u00f3n enfocada a esta t\u00e9cnica con aplicaciones diversas. Se presenta la utilizaci\u00f3n de c\u00f3digos de flujo \u00f3ptico y registrado en la elastograf\u00eda realizando un estudio cuantitativo de la calidad de estos c\u00f3digos y caracteriz\u00e1ndolos en comparaci\u00f3n con la correlaci\u00f3n cruzada de las l\u00edneas de rf. Se propone un filtrado de kalman. Se presenta una visulizaci\u00f3n tensorial del strain o deformaci\u00f3n unitaria, que a\u00fana las componentes escalares de dicho tensor. Se presenta la visualizaci\u00f3n de la vorticidad como m\u00e9todo discriminante para la diferenciaci\u00f3n de c\u00e1nceres benignos y malignos y del strain index para mejorar la detecci\u00f3n de
