Adem\u00e1s, una ventaja a\u00f1adida es que la formaci\u00f3n de estos dep\u00f3sitos es un proceso sencillo, vers\u00e1til y barato. Sin embargo, su principal inconveniente radica en la presencia de cromo hexavalente en su formulaci\u00f3n, especie que est\u00e1 clasificada como t\u00f3xica y cancer\u00edgena. Esta constataci\u00f3n ha llevado a impulsar desde diferentes \u00e1mbitos el desarrollo de nuevos recubrimientos y\/o tratamientos capaces de reemplazar de forma \u00f3ptima y satisfactoria a estos recubrimientos. En este campo, uno de los recubrimientos que puede erigirse como una posible alternativa viable al cromo duro son los de aleaci\u00f3n de n\u00edquel-wolframio (niw), capaces de generar una elevada dureza y resistencia a la corrosi\u00f3n, manteniendo un aspecto est\u00e9tico muy similar al del cromo. Sin embargo, el proceso de obtenci\u00f3n de esta aleaci\u00f3n resulta dif\u00edcil de controlar (complejidad del electrolito, problemas de estabilidad del ba\u00f1o en funcionamiento, desconocimiento del efecto de los tratamientos t\u00e9rmicos posteriores), situaci\u00f3n que esta dificultando su implementaci\u00f3n industrial. Por ello, el objetivo el objetivo principal del trabajo ha sido el estudio del proceso de niw y la optimizaci\u00f3n de formulaciones y condiciones de trabajo para su posterior aplicaci\u00f3n
