Como consecuencia, el subsistema de entrada\/salida se ha decantado como el indiscutible cuello de botella del conjunto. As\u00ed, por ejemplo, uno de los sistemas de interconexi\u00f3n m\u00e1s utilizados, el bus pci, presenta importantes limitaciones en cuanto a escalabilidad y fiabilidad. Es por ello que recientemente han aparecido nuevas propuestas encaminadas a salvar esas limitaciones. Es el caso de pci express, que sustituye el tradicional bus pci por una red conmutada. Con el mismo objetivo han aparecido otras tecnolog\u00edas de red, como infiniband (iba) y, m\u00e1s recientemente, advanced switching interconnect (asi). En ambos casos, las estructuras topol\u00f3gicas est\u00e1n formadas por conmutadores y enlaces punto a punto. Asi cuenta con la ventaja de ser la expansi\u00f3n natural de pci express, al estar construida sobre las capas f\u00edsicas y de enlace de dicha tecnolog\u00eda.  la l\u00ednea de inter\u00e9s que nos llev\u00f3 a iniciar esta tesis doctoral es el dise\u00f1o de mecanismos de gesti\u00f3n eficientes para redes de interconexi\u00f3n con encaminamiento fuente, que act\u00faen tras la ocurrencia de un cambio en la red. En concreto, tras la detecci\u00f3n del cambio, debe descubrirse la configuraci\u00f3n topol\u00f3gica resultante. Esta informaci\u00f3n servir\u00e1 como punto de partida para obtener un conjunto de rutas que, en el caso de redes con encaminamiento fuente, finalmente ser\u00e1n actualizadas en todos los dispositivos finales de la red. Para la evaluaci\u00f3n de nuestras propuestas se ha utilizado el marco de referencia de la tecnolog\u00eda asi, incluyendo su infraestructura de gesti\u00f3n. Esto es, la organizaci\u00f3n de su espacio de configuraci\u00f3n, su forma de acceso al mismo y la comunicaci\u00f3n entre entidades de gesti\u00f3n.  con objeto de reducir el perjuicio experimentado por la red cuando se produce un cambio, se han desarrollado y evaluado varios algoritmos eficientes de exploraci\u00f3n de la topolog\u00eda de red. Posteriormente, se ha implementado un primer mecanismo de gesti\u00f3n tradicional, con el objetivo de identificar sus principales cuellos de botella. A continuaci\u00f3n, se ha desarrollado un nuevo esquema que calcula la funci\u00f3n de encaminamiento de manera distribuida entre los dispositivos finales de la red. Finalmente, con el fin de eliminar completamente la degradaci\u00f3n de prestaciones producida durante el proceso de reconfiguraci\u00f3n est\u00e1tico, tambi\u00e9n se ha propuesto una nueva t\u00e9cnica para ejecutar este proceso de manera din\u00e1mica.   summary  in recent years, computer performance has significantly increased and, as a consequence, data i\/o systems have become bottlenecks within systems. To alleviate this problem, new technologies, such as pci express, were developed. Pci express is maturing and shown itself to be the i\/o interconnect of choice in single host computing platforms. On the other hand, the trend for cluster platforms is to utilize pci express for i\/o subsystem communications, and a second separate interconnect for host-to-host communications.  the necessities of a separate interconnect motivated the industry to develop an extension to pci express that supported host-to-host communication; therefore, the advanced switching interconnect special interest group (asi-sig) became a reality. Stargen developed products around asi, including switches that were part of their starfabric cluster products. At the end of 2006, the consortium of industry partners that were behind the asi-sig disbanded and, later, transferred the asi specifications and documentation to picmg (an industry consortium that extends the pci standard), so that it would continue to remain available and can today be found as specification under picmg. Scalable host-to-host cluster communication still remains beyond the scope of pci express. Dolphin interconnects have continued the support for asi and embodied it in their new interconnect technology called dolphin express. Recently, a ten port switch has been developed and released for commercial sale.  the original asi specification defines a chip-to-chip and backplane interconnect switched fabric architecture, inheriting most of the physical and link characteristics of pci express, while offering a larger application space, including multiprocessing and peer-to-peer communications. Fabrics are cluster systems that range in size from two up to hundreds of endpoints. An example of endpoint within a cluster is a computer running standard off-the-shelf enterprise applications such as oracle rac and mysql. Fabrics are comprised of links, switches, and endpoints. Each link connects two fabric devices (switches or endpoints), with a specified base link bandwidth of 2.5 gbps in each direction. Switches and endpoints support up to 256 and 4 ports, respectively.  the proposals of this phd thesis are tested on a asi model developed by us, but their bases have been designed for any source routing networks. Our goal is to develop and evaluate management mechanisms that can keep a fabric up and running after the occurrence of a topological change. These techniques should also minimize the impact that the change has on network performance. After a change, the management mechanism must re-establish connectivity between each pair of endpoints. To achieve this, new topology information is gathered before a new set of fabric paths is calculated. Finally, the routing information is updated at the endpoints. The \textit{fabric manager} (fm) is typically a software entity running on one or more endpoints, and one of its tasks is to synchronize the entire process. The asi specification only describes a set of configuration data structures that each device maintains, and the management packets that the fm employs to access those structures.  in particular, we first propose and comparatively analyze several implementations for the discovery process. Next, a new distributed management mechanism is developed with the aim of reducing the time required to calculate the set of routes among endpoints. The main difference between this proposal and a traditional centralized one is that the fm distributes to the network endpoints the topological information gathered during the discovery phase, instead of computing and distributing the path information. Finally, we propose a new dynamic reconfiguration strategy which is based on the up*\/down* routing algorithm and is applicable to both source and distributed routing
