El trabajo estudia la canci\u00f3n de granados, situ\u00e1ndola en su contexto, la barcelona de principios del siglo xx, con el auge del modernismo y del regeneraci\u00f3nismo. Y aporta no s\u00f3lo un estudio anal\u00edtico del repertorio, sino hallazgos documentales novedosos sobre la figura de granados, que permiten conocer mejor la etapa madrile\u00f1a del compositor, durante la cual intenta tener \u00e9xito en el g\u00e9nero zarzuel\u00edstico, as\u00ed como la existencia de obras poco conocidas y estudiadas hasta ahora. La mayor aportaci\u00f3n documental de la tesis es la publicaci\u00f3n de un espitolario in\u00e9dito, de unas trescientas cartas, que se ha completado con otras cartas ya conocidas del autor y se adjuntan en un ap\u00e9ndice. Dichos documentos ha permitido descubrir la voz del compositor, profundizando en sus relaciones familiares, musicales y sociales. De igual modo, este epistolario permite reconstruir de forma fidedigna el contexto cultural de granados en barcelona, pero sobre todo en Madrid y par\u00eds, descubriendo todas sus relaciones y la consideraci\u00f3n que de \u00e9l tenian sus contempor\u00e1neos. Estos documentos permiten contextualizar el estudio del repertorio cancion\u00edstico, relacion\u00e1ndolo con fen\u00f3menos ideol\u00f3gicos finiseculares, como el institucionismo, el regeneracionismo, el nacionalismo catal\u00e1n, etc., Que de muy diversas maneras influyen y determinan la obra de granados. La relaci\u00f3n con pedrell, su maestro, es determinante para la conformaci\u00f3n del granados compositor, y tambi\u00e9n es estudiada en el trabajo, aportando nuevos datos que han aparecido en el
