A diferencia de muchas de las composiciones literarias creadas por los aztecas en tiempos precortesianos, que lograron espantar a los misioneros espa\u00f1oles cuando \u00e9stos llegaron a conocerlas, las manifestaciones de este g\u00e9nero literario no s\u00f3lo no fueron objeto de prohibici\u00f3n, sino que se convirtieron en los \u00fanicos textos de tradici\u00f3n prehisp\u00e1nica publicados durante la \u00e9poca colonial. Dicha cuesti\u00f3n fue la que motiv\u00f3 mi investigaci\u00f3n, intentando ofrecer una nueva visi\u00f3n en torno al huehuetlatolli que explicara las causas que motivaron el especial tratamiento de
