Tanmateix, es coneix molt poc sobre els nmdar en altres teixits. La pres\u00e9ncia del receptor ha estat detectada tamb\u00e9 en els principals \u00ed\u00b2rgans responsables de la home\u00ed\u00b2stasi del calci, el rony\u00f3 i l#os, indicant un possible paper del nmdar en la seva regulaci\u00f3. La gl\u00ed\u00a0ndula paratiroides \u00e9s un dels \u00ed\u00b2rgans m\u00e9s importants en el control dels nivells de calci sist\u00e9mic, cosa que indueix a pensar que el nmdar pot estar present en aquesta gl\u00ed\u00a0ndula on podria tenir un possible paper en la regulaci\u00f3 de la s\u00edntesi i secreci\u00f3 de l#hormona paratiro\u00ed\u00afdal (pth).  per tot aix\u00ed\u00b2, v\u00ed\u00a0rem voler determinar l#exist\u00e9ncia del receptor de nmda en la gl\u00ed\u00a0ndula paratiroides i el seu paper en la regulaci\u00f3 de la pth, ja sigui directament (en la mateixa gl\u00ed\u00a0ndula) o indirectament (a trav\u00e9s de l#activaci\u00f3 del receptor en el rony\u00f3 i el control de la s\u00edntesi de la forma activa de la vitamina d, la 1,25-dihidroxivitamina d3 (1,25(oh)2d3). la pres\u00e9ncia del receptor en la gl\u00ed\u00a0ndula paratiroides va ser determinada per pcr a temps real, immunoprecipitaci\u00f3 i immunohistoqu\u00edmica. Per tal d#analitzar l#efecte de l#activaci\u00f3 del receptor en la secreci\u00f3 de pth, animals sans van ser tractats amb l#agonista del receptor, l#\u00ed\u00a0cid n-metil-d-aspartat (nmda) on v\u00ed\u00a0rem veure una baixada en els nivells de pth en sang 15 minuts despr\u00e9s del tractament sense canvis ni en els nivells de calci ni en els de f\u00ed\u00b2sfor. Aquest efecte tamb\u00e9 va ser observat en animals amb nivells alts de pth indu\u00ed\u00afts per un clamp hipocalc\u00e9mic. A m\u00e9s, en gl\u00ed\u00a0ndules paratiroides d#animals normals incubades en baixa concentraci\u00f3 de calci v\u00ed\u00a0rem veure que la secreci\u00f3 de pth es veia clarament inhibida quan afegim nmda al medi. Aquest efecte es veia abolit quan les gl\u00ed\u00a0ndules eren coincubades amb mk-801 (antagonista del receptor) o amb pd 98059 (inhibidor de la via de les erk-mapk). En animals amb hiperparatiro\u00ed\u00afdisme secundari (htp2) no s#aprecien diferencies en els nivells de pth ni en el tractament dels animals ni en la incubaci\u00f3 de les seves gl\u00ed\u00a0ndules paratiroides degut a una baixada en l#expressi\u00f3 del nmdar1.  en tractaments a m\u00e9s llarg termini (4 dies) en canvi, els efectes en la secreci\u00f3 de pth s\u00f3n els inversos. L#activaci\u00f3 del nmdar en el rony\u00f3 provoca un descens en la s\u00edntesi de la 1,25(oh)2d3 degut a una inhibici\u00f3 de la 1&#945;hidroxilasa, principal enzim responsable de la s\u00edntesi de la forma activa de la vitamina d. Els nivells baixos de vitamina d provoquen un augment en la s\u00edntesi i secreci\u00f3 de pth que indueixen di\u00ed\u00bcresis, natri\u00ed\u00bcresis, canvis en l#excreci\u00f3 urin\u00ed\u00a0ria de calci i f\u00ed\u00b2sfor, a m\u00e9s d#un augment en la resorci\u00f3 \u00ed\u00b2ssia.  els nostres resultats demostren, per tant, que el receptor de nmda es troba present en la gl\u00ed\u00a0ndula paratiroides i est\u00ed\u00a0 involucrat en la regulaci\u00f3 de la secreci\u00f3 de pth. En temps de tractament curts el receptor present en la gl\u00ed\u00a0ndula paratiroides provoca una inhibici\u00f3 de la secreci\u00f3, en canvi, a llarg termini, l#activaci\u00f3 del receptor de nmda en el rony\u00f3 causa un augment en la s\u00edntesi i secreci\u00f3 de pth degut al descens en els nivells de 1,25(oh)2d3 que preval sobre l#efecte directe del nmdar en la gl\u00ed\u00a0ndula
