La determinacion de ambos productos en plasma se realizo mediante hplc (blum y cols., 1989), y el ajuste farmacocinetico con los programas pkcalc y pcnonlin. El criterio de informacion de akaike (aic) fue utilizado para discernir el modelo farmacocinetico mas adecuado.  en ambas especies, los dos antibioticos, se distribuyen segun un modelo bicompartimental abierto cuando se administraron por via intravenosa, y segun un modelo monocompartimental cuando se administraron por via intramuscular.  los parametros farmacocineticos obtenidos para ampicilina y sulbactam en ambas especies no muestran diferencias significativas, pero si existen diferencias entre los correspondientes a ambos productos en la misma especie. Estas diferencias no constituyen un motivo de \u00abincompatibilidad\u00bb farmacocinetica, pero si indican que podria disminuirse la proporcion de sulbactam. Por otro lado se ha constatado que no existen interferencias entre los dos.
